Who we are:

We are a small boutique architecture firm. We don’t claim to be everything to everybody. Chances are, if you are looking for something more tailored to you, we can provide exactly what you have been dreaming about, for your life and for your property.

More than 20 years ago, while designing and building large custom homes and estates, we saw the need for finely designed and crafted custom detached Accessory Dwelling Units - Cottages, Casitas, Bungalows, Guest Houses, Pool Houses, and Home Offices.

With our decades of ADU experience from California to Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and Montana, we understand the special requirements and issues that confront the homeowners wanting to create their own perfect ADU.

01. Does My Lot Qualify?

We wade through the myriad of local, state, and national codes and requirements to help you determine what you may or may not be able to create on your specific property.
Setbacks, Allowed Square Footage, Height Limits, Lot Coverage Percentages, Utilities Access and Capacity, Parking, Silt, Water and Drainage Control, Impact and Permit Fees, Environmental Impact and Abatement Concerns, Noise Ordinances, etc.

02. Concept and Feasibility

Next, with the code requirements organized, we can then take your dreams, wishes, and ideas to create a visual idea of what is feasible and what shape your conceptual plan may take.
We can provide site studies, feasibility assessments, and design direction for you to move forward with clarity.
We began designing and building with super-insulated Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) over 35 years ago. We are specialists in passive solar as well as active solar systems. Let’s look at your long term operating cost savings should we employ one or more of these systems.

03. Custom Architectural Design

With our custom home architecture spanning over five decades, we understand how to bring slightly fuzzy dreams clearly into focus. We sweat the details of your needs and wants. All the while working toward your desired budget. Often small changes have huge impacts on the final numbers - up or down. We will make suggestions that keep that budget in focus.
As the design takes shape, you will have access to our tools allowing you to interactively walk through and around it as your dream takes shape and becomes closer to reality. Our design and visualization tools are industry-leading.
We work closely with a few top interior designers, or with your own choice throughout the design and construction phases to create your personally tailored ADU.
Your plans will be complete and ready for permits and construction. As every detail counts, this process takes more than simply a few weeks. We take into consideration how YOU will use and enjoy it. There is nothing worse than going through the process only to wish you had done something differently.

04. Custom Designed - Without the Wait

All of our existing plans were custom designed for others who reveived single-use licenses to build their new ADU on their property, with exclusive rights for their local market.
Should one of them excite you, we do sell single-use licenses to these plans provided they are not in the same local market as the original.
These plan prices start at $950, depending upon site complexity, with customization and personalization options.

05. Construction

The final step in realizing your dream ADU is of course the actual build.
We will not just kick you down the road once you have your dream design. We are always available to answer the questions and concerns of our clients.
We also offer full construction services in select areas, through our sister company with over 50 years’ history building fine custom homes and casitas.

Once you decide on your contractor, whether ours or your qualified local one, we also offer a second set of eyes where we help with bidding and draw reviews to make sure you are getting what you are paying for.
